Marah & Tige braved the single digit temps…Read More
Yesterday morning I met up with Betsy & Trent to squeeze in engagement photos before Trent had to fly back to MN that afternoon. Seriously. Morning light. AHHH! It was beautiful.
Usually I have a hard time picking one photo out of a group to be a favorite. This time was an exception. There were several different ones that take a close second, but hands down this first photo is my absolute favorite.
Congratulations Betsy & Trent, I am looking forward to your fall wedding!
Sunday was Valentine's day, & fittingly enough, I met up with Janelle & Joe to do their enengagement pictures. After the initial excitement of seeing the sun that morning, I panicked. I was hoping for overcast and warm temps, but got full sun & a wind chill below zero. The wind was bitter, but we toughed it out. I met Joe & Janelle at Joe's house to start. The morning sun proved to be a lot more fun than I was expecting! Backlit photos are some of my favorites, though challenging.
After taking a few photos we headed over to covered drive. It was much less windy there, and by 11:00 it had warmed up to about 8 degrees. Janelle has a contagious laugh, and it doesn't take much for Joe to bring it out. I had fun watching the two of them happy together :) It's crazy to see your friends start to get married.
Congrats again, Joe & Janelle. I can't wait for your May wedding!
This one might be my favorite...Color or Black & White?
Congratulations Joe & Janelle, thank you for letting me take your pictures, & for putting up with the weather!
Last Weekend we lucked out with another beautiful day! It was almost 40 degrees and sunny! It was awesome. And Evan and Grace were awesome. Grace had all sorts of outfits and fun props and great ideas! And Evan had a LOT of patience. You can tell just by the way they talk to each other, Grace & Evan balance each other out. I could see that after spending only a couple of hours with them, but I'm sure their family & friends would agree that they really are perfect for each other.
When Grace asked me to take her pictures, I will admit I actually had to look her up on Facebook. After we met the first time I was sure that had we lived near each other, we would have been friends. We both joked that neither one of us actually knew each other well- funny how that happens when you run in different circles with different people. That's one thing I love about doing this- I get to meet a lot of different people I never would have known otherwise!
I met Grace & Evan at her parents house where we headed up towards Copper Harbor, making several stops at different spots along the way.
Evan & Grace were engaged on Christmas day. Evan had given Grace some snow shoes for Christmas, and offered to help her put them on. As he got down on the ground to help her, suddenly a ring appeared! :) I thought it was very fitting that they brought snow shoes to incorporate into their pictures.
Grace had a fun picnic of Coffee and Brownies, so once we made it to Copper Harbor they took a picnic "break"
On the Way back, Grace requested that we stop at an ice cream shop near her house that she worked at since she was old enough to have a job. Evan used to come and visit her here while she was working. I am SO glad she asked, as these turned out to be some of my favorite pictures of the Day.
Congratulations Grace & Evan, I am looking forward to your Wedding!
Saturday was my first photo shoot of 2016! It could not have gone better- after the massive storm we had the weekend before, the snow was hung perfectly in the trees and blanketing the ground, making for some great scenery. All that in combination with the 30 degree temps and overcast skies, it was perfect.
Not only was the weather great, Brita & Pat were great as well! They are both very photogenic, making it a fun time for me. Brita and Pat were engaged back in October, and I was thrilled when she asked me to take their wedding photos in May.
We started the afternoon at Covered Drive, with plans to head to breakies. Covered drive is a very popular spot. It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful but how different it looks in each season.
After Covered Drive we changed plans and headed over to Redridge.
Thank you, Brita & Pat! Congratulations again on your engagement, I am looking forward to your Wedding Day!
